Earn College Credits while completing your high school degree

High school students from Greater Boston area schools can earn high school and college credits simultaneously while gaining familiarity with the college "experience".

Types of Dual Enrollment programs

Traditional Dual Enrollment

Through our dual enrollment program, students take college courses at BHCC while they are still in high school. Dual enrollment partners include Malden High School, Chelsea High School and thirty-five other area high schools.

BHCC Early College

Students in BHCC Early College programs participate in accelerated pathways from high school to college, allowing them to graduate high school with anywhere from 12 college credits to an associate degree. Current Massachusetts State designated BHCC Early College partners include Brighton High School, Charlestown High School, Chelsea High School, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, and Malden High School.

Spring 2024 Application Timeline 

For Classes Starting on January 22, 2024

  • The application window for classes starting on January 22 is now CLOSED. New applications will be considered for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024.
  • Last Day to Adjust Schedules (add/drop) for Spring 2024 is January 29, 2024
  • In-Person Orientation and Tour of BHCC (Charlestown Campus) is January 17, 2024 at 4 p.m.

For Classes Starting on January 29 (BPS District-Wide at Madison Park, Brighton High School, Charlestown High School, and Chelsea High School):

  • Last Day to Submit an Application (Including Transcripts and/or Taking Assessments) for Spring 2024 is:
    • January 16—No new applications will be accepted after this date
  • Last Day to Adjust Schedules (add/drop) for Spring 2024 is February 5, 2024
  • In-Person Orientation and Tour of BHCC (Charlestown Campus) is January 24, 2024 at 4 p.m.

Apply to the Dual Enrollment Program: Steps You Need to Take

During your Junior or Senior year of high school:

  1. Talk to your guidance counselor about taking a class at Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) next semester. You can also contact Dual Enrollment Staff at dualenroll@bhcc.edu or according to the information below:

  2. Submit an application to participate in the dual enrollment program. (Only students who have never taken a course should apply)
  3. Obtain a copy of your unofficial high school transcript and SASID#. (You must submit this information along with your application. Your application will not be processed without them.)
  4. Complete your placement testing through the College’s Assessment Center, or meet eligibility for Placement by High School GPA.
  5. Register for a course by making an appointment with a BHCC Dual Enrollment Staff.
  6. Attend a mandatory orientation session before classes begin.
